Como decorar uma Mesa de verão - mesa posta com pratos de porcelana, talheres, copos e flores

One of the best sensations of summer is being able to enjoy a sunny day outdoors, with family and friends, always with due care! Learn how to decorate a summer table that conveys the best of the season’s spirit.

The art of welcoming

Days are becoming longer and warmer. Clothes become lighter and colours are more vibrant and cheerful. With the arrival of summer, our mood and way of being changes and the same happens in our home, our decoration and the way we compose our table.

Receiving family and friends, for a small and intimate gathering, has never been so “in-fashion”. The habit has become even more popular in times of disconfinement, during which, in order to satisfy the longing for someone, it is necessary to take due care and limit the number of people in the same space.

Despite what many people think, proper hosting is not only related to luxury. The secret is, also, related to the tenderness put into the details, which make all the difference, so that the table becomes cosy. The items’ choice can disclose joy and, at the same time, calmness, serenity and, still, impact the routine of your family and your guests.

But how to disclose this spirit on your summer table

To show what you can’t miss on a table, during this season, whether at the beach, in the country or in the city, I have prepared this article, fully inspired, on how to decorate a summer table, in the garden, for a delicious and long-lasting lunch.

  1. Starting point: choosing porcelain

The starting point was the choice of Coral Blue collection to compose the scenery. The porcelain, produced through the process of sponging, handcrafted Scandinavian-style decoration, has managed to perfectly adapt itself to the table’s DNA. An invitation to the freshness of Nature, harmony and spirituality, which only blue colour can convey.

2.Composing the table with a tablecloth, individuals and napkins

I have composed our table with a tablecloth under ethnic prints, in order to break any seriousness and make the atmosphere even more relaxed. I chose a white individual tablecloth, with blue embroidery, to overlap the tablecloth, creating a frame and, thus, providing more prominence to our porcelain plates.

The linen napkin, I have put it on the left side of the plate, next to the fork. I highlight, especially, the embroidery, in this case with the letter “C”, thought to reference my name, Carla Magalhães, the name of the collection, Coral Blue, and the brand, Costa Verde.

3. Placing the glasses and cutlery

For the water glass, I kept the blue colour and, for the white wine, I chose a glass in crystal, without colour or carving. For the cutlery, a collection comprising wooden handles, to follow the natural line that I wanted to give to this summer table.mesa de verão.

4. Adding decoration and flowers

All these pieces will be included in the decoration I have used, a composition of vases, of different textures and shades of blue, to go with the natural environment.

For the flowers, I gave preference to the greens that were available in the garden, and to invoke the power of the king of the season, the sun, I have used orange lilies. I brought the objects to the head of the table, since I won’t be needing both, so I leave the flux of the table free, thus bringing functionality to this beautiful summer table!

5. Putting tenderness into the details

And to tease my guests, and to leave a welcoming message, I used orange as a place marker.
